Where is your favorite fishing and camping sites?
I enjoy fishing, camping, and visiting.
Since I love to travel and see things I’m interested in locations in North America.
you might specify the areas you would consider visiting…. otherwise there will be suggestions thousands of miles away.
but my favorite place is eagle lake. its in Northern california near the nevada border. it has a species of trout unique to that lake, eagle trout.
a good trip the small ones are 2 lbers. i’ve personally pulled a 6 lber and seen a 10.
they are a natural species, not planted or stocked. in my experience planters are just as likely to swim with line as fight at all. and when they do fight they don’t fight like a natural fish does.
eagle is a large lake, its about 14 miles by 7 miles at the big points. there are multiple campgrounds, there is even a small plane airport.
the eagle campground is nearest the main boat launch, but tends to be more crowded (reservation needed) and it more expensive.
i like merril campground best, its a couple miles further from the ramp, but you can anchor offshore (sandy bottom, use proper anchor). i like the upper loops, further from the lake. less trees and less shade the closer you get to the shore.
