How To Get Rid Of Skin Tags
No one likes skin tags. They are embarrassing and just plain unsightly. It is just a cosmetic problem that people do not want to deal with and they want them removed. This article will outline some different methods for how to get rid of skin tags.
It is common to go to the doctor and let him or her remove the skin tag. It is something that they can do very easily. But, what you need to know is that since this is a cosmetic problem the insurance company most likely will not cover the cost of the removal and you will end up with a bill that you wish you did not have.
You can always try to cut them off yourself. That is not hard to do if you have the right equipment, but, there are always risks to you performing procedures on yourself. Those risks are the infections you can incur. Make sure you sterilize any equipment before you do this. While you can always treat an infection, it would be a good idea to allow a doctor to cut the skin tag off if You Are so intent on having it removed if you are unsure of knowing exactly what to do.
To sterilize any equipment you need to use, you should stick the equipment in a flame to kill any germs that may be present. You do this for a minute or so. But, if you don’t want to use a flame, then you can use a sterilization solution, and no risk of flame would be present. If you use a flame, have a presence of mind enough to let it cool down before you use it.
Snip that skin tag as close to the regular skin as you can. You want to get as much as possible. Since there will be a little bleeding you will want to have some bandages to take care of that little problem. You will find that there is going to be some bleeding, and that is natural. Just expect that this will happen if you don’t like the sight of blood.
Next, you should be able to freeze it off if the idea of cutting it off does not sound good to you. It used to be that you had to go to the doctor’s office for this kind of procedure, but no longer. There have been products introduced to the market that allows you to do this for yourself, and with good results.
Another way to get rid of those unsightly skin tags is to very simply cut off the supply of blood to the tag. It sounds dangerous, but it really is not. All you need to do is take a piece of string and tie it around the base of the skin tag. You need to tie it on as tightly as you can, as this will squeeze the blood supply from getting into the tag. Keeping it on for a few days should do the trick and the skin tag will fall off. You probably won’t even know it fell off until after the event.
Skin tags are a cosmetic skin condition that are not harmful, but they can leave a person feeling a little wary of showing them. Any doctor can remove them. You now are able to remove them with just a little effort and with very little expense. This is how to get rid of skin tags on your own.
